My Story

Hi, my name is Jacki Geary and I am the artist and founder of JAX Atelier!  Jax is one of my nicknames and Atelier means 'artist studio' in French. I’m a multidisciplinary artist who began drawing portraits as a child as soon as I could hold a pencil. I’ve been a professional artist for the last 22 years as a painter, photographer, printmaker and jewelry artist.  

I’m originally from Connecticut, but I live in San Diego, CA. My work is inspired by a modern/vintage aesthetic combined with an east coast/west coast vibe. My jewelry palette consists of minimalistic neutrals to classic black and white to vibrant colors that make you feel something at your core. Copper, brass and silver are also a part of my jewelry repertoire. Using a foldforming technique to manipulate the metals, as well as a patination process, offers endless possibilities in creating unique jewelry art. I love using texture and mixed materials to create visual interest and excitement in my sculptural abstract work.

With all of the different types of art I create, jewelry has become the focal point of JAX Atelier since opening the business in 2018. I love designing one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art. Each creation is as unique as the person wearing it. Bringing people joy through my art is truly a special feeling!
